With the media of cassette tapes without the label (indi label) jaipongan began to be distributed independently by H Suanda in the Karawang and surrounding areas. Unexpectedly Jaipongan received a warm welcome, then Jaipongan became a means of entertainment for the Karawang community and received a sizeable appreciation from all the people of Karawang and became a new phenomenon in the Karawang cultural arts space, especially the art of entertainment for the people. Jaipongan's position at that time was an alternative entertainment performance art from traditional arts that had grown and developed first in Karawang such as pencak silat, banjet mask, tilu tap, tarling and wayang golek.
